The Resity Story
From a Kitchen Table to a Vienna Studio
The Beginning: A Playful Spark (2012–2015)
Thirteen years ago, Resity wasn’t a business—it was a play. It started as "Pau’s Handmade," a creative outlet while I was a graphic design student in Romania. I had always loved jewelry, even back in high school when I’d tinker with clay, but resin was different. I was fascinated by the alchemy of it—how a liquid could capture color and light to become a solid treasure.
The Trial, the Error, and the Breakthrough
The early years were defined by grit. Working from a small apartment with my now-husband, Andrei, I faced a steep learning curve. There were failed batches, dust-speckled finishes, and many moments where I nearly gave up. I wasn’t a "business owner" yet; I was just a student having fun and earning extra money.
But the resin kept calling to me. I experimented with everything—metallic flakes, botanical elements, and bold pigments. Slowly, the "trial and error" turned into mastery. Through Etsy, my little Romanian project reached 7,624 cities in 80 countries. I realized then: there are no limits to where art can go.
Growth, Love, and Life’s Pivot (2015–2023)
As the orders grew—eventually reaching over 18,000—so did our partnership. After graduating with an Engineering degree, Andrei joined me full-time. He took over the precision work: building the molds and the rigorous sanding process, while I focused on the soul of the piece: the pouring and the design.
In 2021, our daughter was born. We intentionally slowed down for two years, prioritizing her over growth. Then, in 2023, we made a leap of faith: we moved our lives and our business to Vienna, Austria.
A Dream Realized (2025 – Present)
January 2025 marked our biggest milestone yet. After years of working from home, we moved Resity into its first official professional studio. A space dedicated solely to pouring, sanding, photographing, and dreaming.
However, growth always brings new challenges. When import laws changed in late 2025, cutting off our primary shipping route to the US via the Austrian Post, we didn't stop. We pivoted away from third-party marketplaces to build our own home here—on our website—where we can connect with you directly.
Our Philosophy:
Color as Food for the Soul
Resity isn’t about trends or "office-appropriate" jewelry. It’s for the people who live differently.
- The Magic of Light: Unlike metal, resin acts like a suncatcher. When light passes through a translucent ring, it’s a private joy for the wearer.
- The Botanical Heart: Our "Botanical Line" began with a bouquet of mini roses Andrei gave me when we first moved in together. I preserved them in a resin sphere, and they became a bestseller for a decade.
- The Chromatic Future: Today, we are moving toward bold, stackable colors. We believe jewelry should be an expression of your inner self—whether that’s a rainbow of stacking rings or a single, bold statement.
Meet the Team
- Paula: The Creative Heart. I handle the pouring, design, photography, and customer soul-searching.
- Andrei: The Technical Soul. An engineer by trade, he creates our custom molds, manages the sanding, and keeps the business gears turning.
- The Little Helper: Our 5-year-old daughter. She’s already decided she wants to work at Resity when she grows up.
Every day starts slowly. We walk our dog, take our daughter to kindergarten, and head to the workshop. We don’t believe in the 9-to-5 grind; we believe in the "hand-to-heart" connection.
"I do this because it fulfills me. If this is what I do for the rest of my life—seeing pieces come to life and seeing you happy wearing them—I will be content." — Paula
